How to set yourself as Available or Away using the RIng.io App

Taking calls and not taking calls.

Written by Divan

Your availability status tells Ring.io whether you're ready to receive calls. When you're Available, incoming calls ring through to you. When you're Away, calls skip you and route elsewhere based on your team's settings. You can switch between the two at any time, right from the main app — no need to open Settings.

This guide walks you through changing your status.

How to tell your current status

Your status is shown by the small coloured dot on your profile picture in the top-right corner of the app:

  • 🟢 Green — You're Available and will receive calls.

  • 🟡 Yellow — You're Away and won't receive calls.

Step 1: Open your profile menu

Click your name and profile picture in the top-right corner of the screen.

Step 2: Choose your status

A menu will open showing your account details and a status option. The option you see depends on your current status — it always offers the opposite of where you are now.

If you're currently Available (green dot), you'll see Set as Away. Click it to stop receiving calls.

If you're currently Away (yellow dot), you'll see Set as Available. Click it to start receiving calls again.

That's it. Your status updates immediately, and the coloured dot on your profile picture changes to match. You can switch back and forth as often as you need throughout your day.

A few things to keep in mind

  • Setting yourself to Away only affects you — it won't change the status of anyone else on your team.

  • Calls that come in while you're Away are routed according to your team's call-handling rules, so callers still reach someone or can leave a message.

  • Your status stays as you set it until you change it again, so remember to set yourself back to Available when you're ready to take calls.
