Using the Dial Pad in Ring.io App

Written by Divan

Use the dial pad during a live call to enter an extension, choose an option in a phone menu, or dial by name. You type the digit or letter on your keyboard, and Ring.io plays the matching tone into the call.

Ring.io Pro Tip: The dial pad is only available while you're on an active call.

Where to find the dial pad

The dial pad icon is at the bottom of the Ring.io Web Phone. It looks like a small grid of dots and sits just to the left of the speaker and settings (gear) icons.

How to use the dial pad

  1. Place or answer a call in the Ring.io Web Phone.

  2. Once the call is connected, click the dial pad icon at the bottom of the Web Phone.

  3. A panel opens that reads Listening to key presses. This means Ring.io is ready for your input.

  4. Type the number or letter you need on your keyboard. Ring.io plays the matching tone into the call.

Tips and troubleshooting

  • Can't open the dial pad? Make sure the call is connected. The dial pad only works during an active call.

  • Phone menu didn't respond? Wait for the recording to finish its prompt before typing. Some phone systems ignore tones sent while they're still speaking.
