Enabling extensions

Ring.io offers the ability to assign user(s) with extensions. When a call is placed to a Ring.io company number, present the option for your callers to enter an extension for the party they need to reach.

1. Log in to the Ring.io Admin Portal.

2. Verify the customized greeting includes a message that prompts callers to enter an extensions. Learn more about configuring a custom greeting.

3. Click Users. Extensions are enabled by default, configure the the extension settings from the following:

  • Enable user extensions of digits (2-5 allowed)

  • Enable Dial By Name Directory (callers enter the first 3 letters of last name)

Ring.io automatically assigns extensions to each of your existing users following the digits assigned. To change the user extensions, click Change Extensions.
