Why do I hear feedback or echo?

The number one reason why you will hear echo or feedback while on a call is because a phone system is creating a feedback loop between the audio it gets from your computer and the audio that it plays through your computer's speakers. In short, without getting too technical, the audio from your speakers is being picked up by the microphone. This is why in most call centers, agents use headsets with a microphone near their mouth so that the audio from the speakers don't leak or bleed over to the microphone.

The Ring.io dialer like other types of phone software has a setting to try to eliminate as much echo as possible but it works best when complimented with a headset. For the best calling experience, we recommend a headset over a standalone microphone and speakers.
